Thank you for your interest in the Forsyth Water Polo Club. Our club is a member of the Georgia High School Water Polo Association (GHSWPA). The GHSWPA consists of 40 teams from the Greater Atlanta area. The league is split into 3 divisions and a single Women’s division. Last fall, Forsyth fielded three coed teams and a women’s team. Our ‘A’ team placed 2nd in the State Tournament. Information about the Georgia High School Water Polo Association can be found on the GHSWPA website. The GHSWPA site is a great resource for all type of information regarding the league including results, directions to pools, and league rules.
Our club is for all Forsyth County high school and middle school students as well to athletes where no team is available at their school. No experience is necessary, however athletes should be able to swim and be comfortable in deep water. Last fall our club consisted of 42 athletes with approximately half having any prior polo experience. Our team’s focus is to develop new players and teach the principles of the game. All athletes must register with American Water Polo to be eligible to participate. AWP membership is $50 per calendar year.
We’ll be holding our annual Spring Clinic on Feb 16th from 11-1pm at the Cumming Aquatic Center. The clinic is free to all attendees. The Spring 2019 developmental season begins February 23, 2019. View our Spring 2019 Flyer for more info. Practices will be at the Cumming Aquatic Center on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings, and on Saturday.
As with all student activities, we need parent support to make the team function smoothly. We are asking for volunteers to help coordinate communications, game refreshments, table workers, and team finances. If you are willing to help in any of these areas please don’t be shy. We truly appreciate all the parental support we can get as we grow this program going forward.
Again, thank you all for your interest and we look forward to an exciting season.
