Summertime

We are less than 3 weeks away from the beginning of the fall season. Our free clinic will be on Saturday June 24th from 10am-12pm at the Cumming Aquatic Center. Please invite your friends to attend. The clinic will be focused on new athletes, but all are welcomed to attend. Monday June 26th will be our first FoCo practice. Our fall practice schedule will be Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30pm-8:00pm, and Saturdays from 10am-12pm. Once school begins Mondays and Wednesdays will be pushed back to 7:30-9:00pm. There will be a few Sunday practices when the CAC is unavailable for our scheduled time. All practices will be posted to the website calendar in the next few days.

Summertime is the recruiting season for water polo. I am looking to stop by a few summer league meets over the next three weeks to talk with athletes and their parents about our club. If you are on a summer league team (or coach a team), please send me your meet schedule so plans can be made. Contact information for your head coach would be greatly appreciated. Our best recruiting tools are our athletes and parents. Please talk to your summer league teammates about playing polo. Encourage your coaches to have us at your pool for an informational meeting/clinic. As I mentioned earlier, there are only a few weeks until the season begins so let’s get active in the recruiting department.

Parents, we are having our next Parent Board meeting this Wednesday. Please be in attendance. This is a crucial time in the development of our club and we need your help to make it a smooth transition. Our athletes and coaches put the effort in on deck and in the pool, but it can’t happen without the work that goes on behind the scenes through the Parent Board.

Make sure your AWP memberships are up to date by the first practice. This reminder is for the players from last fall since their memberships will be expiring soon.

Hope everyone’s summer is going well and we’ll see you at the pool.

Thanks for the information! My son is interested in playing water polo in the fall for the 1st time but already has a commitment on weds evenings. Would that be a problem if he missed that practice each week? Thanks!
