Olympic medalist, NCAA Champ Goalie Brandon Brooks to lead ATL USAWP ODP Camp
SIGN UP NOW for the 2017 USA Water Polo Olympic Development Program (ODP) Camp to improve your game and be evaluated by USAWP National Team and ODP coaches for possible inclusion in ODP Zone teams. (Note: You must be a USAWP member before you sign up. Follow “new member” instructions on the page linked above.) The cost of the camp, which runs from 2PM Saturday to 3:30PM Sunday at Dynamo Chamblee, is $200 plusvalid USAWP membership. Space is limited so don’t delay.
Brandon Brooks headlines an elite staff of coaches for the ODP camp at Dynamo on October 28-29. As a goalie, Brooks won two NCAA championships with UCLA and was a two-time Olympian, winning a Silver medal at the 2008 Olympic Games. Brooks was the Head Women’s Coach of UCLA from 2009 to 2017 and has been a part of 6 NCAA Championships and 11 NCAA Championship game appearances as a player and coach.
“I love seeing water polo grow and really look forward to my first time to Atlanta,” shared Brooks, who is excited to “work with the future of water polo in the South East Zone.” Brooks should get his wish as dozens of young water polo players from Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennesseeare already signed up.
Brooks leads an accomplished staff that includes Alex Donis (Head Coach – City of Hialeah WP & Southeast Zone Head ODP Coach – Girls), Miguel Figueras (Director – St. Louis Area Polo & an Assistant Coach USA Water Polo National Team), Kurt Predmore (Head Coach – Scots Water Polo & Southeast Zone Head ODP Coach – Boys) and Stu Sheldon (Interim Head Coach – Dynamo WPC Youth & a Southeast Zone Assistant ODP Coach).
Coaches from the Southeast Zone ODP staff will be at the GHSWPA State Championships to answer questions and see as many young Georgia water polo players as possible.
